Overview:

A persuasive writing activity where students plan and write to persuade others which animal makes the best pet. Designed for middle and upper years students.

Learning Objectives:

• Develop skills in persuasive writing, including stating an opinion and supporting it with logical reasons.
• Structure writing effectively using a persuasive framework.
• Strengthen argumentation abilities by providing evidence to support their opinion on the best pet.

How the Activity Works:

Students are given a framework to help organise their ideas and decide which animal makes the best pet. They will need to provide three solid reasons to support their choice, offering examples and explanations. This task encourages students to think critically and practise persuasive writing skills in an engaging way.
