Year 1 Reading Comprehension Pack

Overview

A pack of 11 reading comprehension sets including fiction and non-fiction texts. Each of the 11 sets contains a reading passage, comprehension questions, and an answer sheet. Designed for students in Year 1.

Learning Objectives

• Develop reading comprehension skills through a variety of text types.
• Answer different question types, including literal (right there) and inferential (on my own) questions.
• Build critical thinking skills by analysing and interpreting texts.

How the Activity Works

Students read passages and respond to related comprehension questions. The questions are designed to assess their understanding of the text, encouraging students to locate explicit information, make inferences, and form reasoned opinions about the text. The included answer sheets support self-assessment and guided learning. These reading sets are ideal for reading rotations and other independent activities.
