Odd and Even Number River Race
EASYTEACHING.NET
Overview:
A board game where students race along a river, moving based on the odd and even numbers they roll on the dice. Designed for year 2 and 3 students.
Learning Objectives:
- Recognise and differentiate between odd and even numbers.
- Apply number properties to gameplay in a fun and engaging way.
- Develop turn-taking and strategic thinking skills.
How the Activity Works:
Students take turns rolling two dice and moving their marker along the river according to a guide on the board. The number of spaces they move depends on whether they roll an odd number, an even number, or a combination of both. The first player to reach a ‘Finish!’ space wins the game. This hands-on activity reinforces number concepts in an interactive and enjoyable way.
