Label Planets & Add Detail

Overview:
A worksheet where students label the planets of the solar system and add relevant information about each planet. The planets are presented in order from their distance from the sun, encouraging students to engage with the material and learn about each planet’s characteristics. Designed for middle and upper years students.
Learning Objectives:
- Label the planets in order of their distance from the sun.
- Develop knowledge about each planet’s key characteristics.
- Practice research and writing skills by adding detailed information about the planets.
How the Activity Works:
Students are given a worksheet with a diagram of the solar system showing the planets in their correct order from the sun. Each planet has a box next to it where students can write facts or information about that planet. Students label the planets and then research or recall key details, such as the planet’s size, atmosphere, number of moons, and unique features. This activity helps students connect visual information with detailed content, reinforcing their understanding of the solar system.
