Overview:

A set of three worksheets designed for early and middle years students, encouraging them to identify and record the similarities and differences between various animals.

Learning Objectives:

  • Compare and contrast two animals, focusing on their similarities and differences.
  • Organise and present ideas clearly using a structured worksheet format.
  • Develop critical thinking skills by analysing features of different animals.

How the Activity Works:

Each worksheet presents a pair of animals: a crocodile and a lion, an elephant and a hippopotamus, and a lizard and a scorpion. Students are tasked with identifying the similarities and differences between the two animals in each pair. They record their observations in the appropriate sections of the worksheet, using the provided space to list shared characteristics in one section and differences in another. This activity helps students to develop their ability to categorise and organise information logically.
