Plan for Persuasive Language

Overview:
A planning sheet that helps students organise their thoughts and use persuasive devices effectively in their writing. Designed for middle and upper years students.

Learning Objectives:

• Identify and understand different persuasive devices.
• Plan the use of persuasive devices to strengthen persuasive writing.
• Develop a structured approach to writing persuasive texts.

How the Activity Works:

Students are provided with a planning sheet featuring 6 boxes. In each box, they select a persuasive device (e.g., ethos, pathos, logos, repetition, rhetorical questions) and then brainstorm an idea for how they could apply it to influence the reader. This activity helps students strategically plan their persuasive writing by ensuring they use a variety of persuasive techniques in an organised and purposeful manner.
