2D Shapes in Everyday Objects: Write
EASYTEACHING.NET
Overview:
An activity where students identify and name the 2D shapes in everyday objects and then draw another example of an object that matches the shape. Designed for early years students.
Learning Objectives:
- Recognise and name common 2D shapes in real-life objects.
- Develop observational skills by connecting shapes to everyday items.
- Encourage creativity through drawing additional examples of the identified shapes.
How the Activity Works:
Students are given pictures of everyday objects and asked to identify the 2D shape that each object resembles (e.g., a wheel). After naming the shape, students are then prompted to draw another real-life object that matches the shape they identified. This activity promotes shape recognition, creative thinking, and drawing skills.
