Cut & Paste to Create Our Solar System

EASYTEACHING.NET

Overview:

An engaging cut and paste activity where students colour and then cut out the Sun and planets to create their own version of the solar system.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn the order and placement of the planets in the solar system.
  • Develop fine motor skills through colouring, cutting, and pasting.
  • Understand the role of the Sun and how the planets orbit around it.

How the Activity Works:

Students begin by colouring the cut-out images of the Sun and planets. They then cut out each planet and the Sun and glue them in the correct order to create a visual representation of our solar system. The activity can be done on a sheet of paper or a larger poster for display. This hands-on activity reinforces the concepts of the solar system while helping students develop creativity and spatial awareness.
