Prepositions

Fishing Prepositions Cut & Paste

EASYTEACHING.NET

Overview:

In this activity, students use cut and paste to position objects based on given directions. They will follow the teacher’s instructions to glue items in specific locations on the picture. Designed for students in the early years.

Learning Objectives:

  • Follow oral instructions and apply them to a visual task.
  • Understand and use prepositions to describe the location of objects.
  • Improve listening and spatial reasoning skills.

How the Activity Works:

The teacher will read out a series of instructions describing where objects should be placed in a picture. For example, "Glue the sun in the top left of the picture," or "Glue the crab between the seaweed." Students will cut out the objects and paste them in the correct spots on the picture, following the teacher’s guidance. This hands-on activity helps students practise prepositions while developing their listening skills and ability to visualise spatial relationships.
