Overview:

An activity where students cut and paste body clues (e.g., sweaty palms, heart racing, wobbly knees) to the matching places on the body to understand how we feel when we are unsafe. Suitable for early and middle years students.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify physical signs of feeling unsafe or anxious.
  • Develop awareness of body signals in relation to emotions.
  • Promote self-regulation and emotional awareness.

How the Activity Works:

Students are given a sheet with a body outline and a list of body clues (e.g., sweaty palms, heart racing, wobbly knees). They will cut out the clues and paste them on the correct parts of the body where they typically occur when feeling unsafe or anxious. This activity helps students understand the physical sensations associated with emotions, fostering emotional awareness and self-regulation.
