This display showcases 9 common poetic language devices: alliteration, hyperbole, metaphor, onomatopoeia, personification, pun, rhyme, rhythm and simile. Each device is accompanied by a clear definition and an example. This visual resource helps students to easily reference and understand the different devices as they read or write poetry.
