Represent a Proper Fraction: Blank Template

EASYTEACHING.NET

Overview:

This worksheet provides a blank template for students to represent a single proper fraction in multiple ways, with larger fraction models for clearer visualisation. Designed for year 2 and year 3 students.

Learning Objectives:

  • Represent a chosen proper fraction using different visual and written methods.
  • Strengthen understanding of fractional parts through enlarged fraction models.
  • Practise placing a fraction on a number line and using fraction bars.

How the Activity Works:

Students or teachers select one fraction to work with and represent it by shading a fraction circle, dividing and shading a fraction bar, writing the fraction in words, and placing it on a number line. The larger visual space makes this resource particularly useful for younger students who benefit from bigger, clearer models, as well as for creating classroom displays to support fraction learning.
