EASYTEACHING.NET
Overview:
The activity includes a variety of colourful, fairy tale-themed cards with different sentences. Students sort each card according to its sentence type—statements, questions, commands and exclamations. Designed for students in years 3 and 4.
Learning Objectives:
- Recognise and categorise different sentence types.
- Understand how punctuation changes the meaning and purpose of sentences.
- Develop skills in reading comprehension and sentence structure.
How the Activity Works:
Students are presented with a series of sentences with a fairy tale-theme, including statements, questions, commands and exclamations. Students sort the sentences into the correct categories based on their type. The sentences are missing punctuation to make the sentences more challenging to sort. This activity is perfect for use as part of a literacy rotation.
