Subtracting Time, 30-Min Intervals
EASYTEACHING.NET
Overview:
An activity designed to help students calculate start times by subtracting elapsed times from end times. Students will subtract the elapsed time in 30-minute intervals and write the corresponding start times in both analogue and digital formats. Designed for middle years students.
Learning Objectives:
- Subtract elapsed times from end times to determine start times.
- Develop skills in working with time subtraction in 30-minute intervals.
- Strengthen both analogue and digital time-reading abilities.
How the Activity Works:
Students are given end times and the elapsed time. They subtract the elapsed time (in 30-minute intervals) from the given end time to determine the start time. Students then write the corresponding start time in both analogue and digital formats. This activity reinforces the concept of time subtraction and helps students practise working with different time formats.
