Available only to premium members
EASYTEACHING.NET

Overview:

Students read various passages and identify the persuasive language devices being used. Designed for middle and upper years students.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify persuasive language devices in different texts.
  • Understand how each device influences the reader’s opinion or decision.
  • Analyse texts to determine the persuasive techniques used and explain their effects.

How the Activity Works:

Students are presented with a variety of passages, each containing examples of persuasive language. They are required to identify the persuasive devices being used in each passage (such as statistics, emotive language, or rhetorical questions) and explain how these devices are intended to persuade the reader. This activity encourages students to examine and critically assess how persuasive techniques shape the reader's response to the message.
