Create Beach & Ocean Food Chain

Overview:
A hands-on activity where students cut and paste beach and ocean animals and plants to build food chains, demonstrating the relationships and energy flow in a coastal and marine ecosystem. Designed for students in years 5 and 6.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the concept of food chains and how energy moves through an ecosystem.
- Identify the roles of producers, consumers, and predators in a beach and ocean biome.
- Develop fine motor skills and organisational skills through a cut-and-paste activity.
How the Activity Works:
Students are provided with images of various beach and ocean animals and plants (e.g., seaweed, fish, sharks) and are tasked with cutting and pasting them to create food chains. They arrange the animals and plants in the correct order, showing how energy flows from producers to primary consumers and predators in a beach and ocean environment. This activity helps students develop a deeper understanding of the coastal and oceanic ecosystems and the connections between different organisms within them.
