What’s in the Sky? Cut & Paste

EASYTEACHING.NET

Overview:

A cut and paste activity where students complete a sky scene by placing objects such as the sun, clouds, a planet, the moon, and stars into the correct positions. Designed for early years students.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify and recognise objects typically found in the sky, such as the sun, clouds, the moon, stars, and planets.
  • Develop fine motor skills through cutting and pasting.
  • Understand how different sky objects are positioned and relate to one another in a scene.

How the Activity Works:

Students are provided with cut-out pictures of sky objects, including the sun, clouds, a planet, the moon, and stars. They are tasked with pasting these objects into the sky scene. After completing the task, students can colour the scene to finalise their work. This activity encourages engagement with the natural world while fostering spatial awareness and fine motor development.
