Overview:

Students practise the reading strategy of ‘making connections’ by linking the text to their own experiences, other texts, and the world around them. Designed for early and middle years students.

How the Activity Works:

Students read a passage about a boy excited about his birthday. They are then guided to write connections in three categories: text-to-text, text-to-self, and text-to-world. Prompts help students think about how the text relates to familiar stories, their own lives, or broader concepts and events. This engaging worksheet supports comprehension and analytical thinking skills.
