Overview:

Students practise the reading strategy of ‘making connections’ by linking the text to their own experiences, other texts, and the world around them. Suitable for middle and upper years students.

How the Activity Works:

Students read a passage about a boy's dreams of becoming a gaming star. They are then guided to write connections in three categories: text-to-text, text-to-self, and text-to-world. Prompts help students think about how the text relates to familiar stories, their own lives, or broader concepts and events. This engaging worksheet supports comprehension and analytical thinking skills.
