Natural Disasters Match (Upper)

EASYTEACHING.NET

Overview:

A cut-and-paste activity where students match pictures, names and descriptions of natural disasters. Designed for students in year 5 and year 6.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify and recognise different types of natural disasters.
  • Understand the causes, effects, and characteristics of each natural disaster.
  • Develop classification and fine motor skills through cutting and pasting.

How the Activity Works:

Students are given a set of pictures, names, and descriptions of natural disasters, such as earthquakes, volcanoes, floods, and cyclones. Their task is to cut out the pictures, names, and descriptions, and then paste them together in the correct matching pairs. This activity helps students connect visual representations of disasters with their names and characteristics, promoting understanding and awareness of each event.
