Available only to premium members
EASYTEACHING.NET

Overview:

A matching activity where students connect sentence fragments to form examples of hyperbole. Designed for middle years students.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the concept of hyperbole and how it exaggerates for emphasis.
  • Identify and create sentences that include hyperbole.
  • Develop skills in using hyperbole effectively to express exaggeration.

How the Activity Works:

Students are given a set of sentence beginnings and endings, with each ending providing an exaggerated statement. They must match the beginning of the sentence with the correct ending to create examples of hyperbole. After completing the matching task, students choose three of their created hyperbole sentences to illustrate, reinforcing their understanding through visual representation. This activity allows students to practise both recognising and producing hyperbolic language in a fun and creative way.
