Which Clothing is Sun Safe?
EASYTEACHING.NET
Overview:
A cut-and-paste activity where students categorise clothing items as either sun-safe or not sun-safe. The activity encourages students to recognise appropriate clothing for protecting against the sun. Designed for early and middle years students.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify clothing items that provide protection from the sun.
- Understand the importance of wearing sun-safe clothing to protect the skin.
- Develop critical thinking skills by categorising items based on sun safety.
How the Activity Works:
Students are provided with a set of images of various clothing items, such as hats, long-sleeved shirts, shorts, and sunglasses. They cut out the items and paste them into two categories: sun-safe and not sun-safe. As they categorise the items, students learn about which types of clothing offer the best protection against harmful UV rays, such as hats, long sleeves, and sunglasses. This activity reinforces the importance of wearing appropriate clothing for sun protection.
