Healthy or Unhealthy?
EASYTEACHING.NET
Overview:
This activity encourages students to classify foods as healthy or unhealthy, helping them learn about making better food choices. Designed for early and middle years students.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the difference between healthy and unhealthy foods.
- Develop decision-making skills related to food choices.
- Learn about the importance of a balanced diet in maintaining good health.
How the Activity Works:
Students are given a selection of food images or names and are tasked with cutting and pasting them into two categories: healthy and unhealthy. This sorting activity helps students identify which foods are nutrient-dense and beneficial for their health versus those high in sugars, fats, or other unhealthy ingredients. After completing the activity, students can discuss why certain foods are classified as healthy or unhealthy and reflect on ways to improve their eating habits.
