Continent Map: South America

Overview:

This activity provides a map of South America with country borders but no labels. It is designed to help students identify the countries and learn about the geography of South America. Suitable for middle and upper years students.

• Identify and label the countries of South America.
• Develop map-reading and geographical skills.
• Enhance knowledge of South American countries and their locations.

How the Activity Works:

Students are provided with an unlabelled map of South America, showing only the borders of the countries. Their task is to label each country in the correct location. This can be followed by additional activities such as:

• Researching and adding key facts about each country (e.g., capital cities, languages spoken, major landmarks).
• Colouring each country in a different shade to visually distinguish them.
• Learning about major rivers, mountains, and other significant geographical features of South America.

This activity helps students develop their map-reading skills while deepening their understanding of the continent’s geography.
