A Jumbled Story
EASYTEACHING.NET
Overview:
A jumbled narrative activity designed to help students understand and identify the key elements of story structure. Students reorder the parts of a story to form a coherent narrative. Designed for middle years students.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify and understand the key components of a narrative (orientation, problem, resolution, etc.).
- Develop skills in organising story structure.
- Enhance comprehension and critical thinking by rearranging and analysing narrative elements.
How the Activity Works:
Students are given a jumbled narrative, with sections of the story mixed up. They cut and paste the parts into the correct order, ensuring that the story follows a logical progression from the introduction (orientation) to the problem, and finally to the resolution. This activity helps students develop a deeper understanding of how narrative structure functions, and encourages them to think critically about the flow of events in a story.
