Four Types of Sentences Worksheets

The English language has four types of sentences. Each type of sentence is used for a different purpose.
Statements (declarative sentences): express an idea. They end with a full stop (a period). Statements are the most common type of sentence.
I went to the beach. Tina likes apples.
Questions (interrogative sentences): ask for information. They end with a question mark (?).
Where do you go? Does Tina like apples?
Commands (imperative sentence): used to give instruction. They usually end with a full stop (period) but can also end with an exclamation mark (!).
Take me to the beach. Pick an apple for Tina.
Exclamations (exclamatory sentence): express strong emotion. They end with an exclamation mark (!).
The beach was amazing! An apple just fell from the sky!
