This perimeter worksheet uses a shopping centre plan to give students practice calculating perimeter from a scale drawing. Students use the map’s scale to work out the perimeter of eight individual stores, then calculate the total perimeter of the shopping centre as a challenge. Two versions are included, using different scales.
Students use the scale provided on the shopping centre plan to convert the side lengths of each store into metres. They add the side lengths to find the perimeter of each named store. As a challenge, students use the outside boundary of the plan to calculate the shopping centre’s total perimeter.
