How the Activity Works:

This activity focuses on the common long vowel sounds ‘ai’, ‘ay’, ‘e’, ‘ea’, ‘ee’, and ‘y’. Students colour the letters that make long vowel sounds in the given words. They will add ‘ai’ or ‘ay’ to complete words missing the long /a/ sound, ‘e’, ‘ea’, or ‘ee’ to complete words missing the long /e/ sound, and ‘y’ to complete words missing the long /i/ sound. Students will also identify and correct misspelled words that contain long vowels.
