Adding and Subtracting Totals: Game (Australian)

Overview:
This board game allows students to practise adding and subtracting small amounts of money while having fun. Players begin with $2 and move around the board, finding and losing money with each roll of the dice. The player with the most money at the end wins. This is a great way for students to apply their understanding of basic money skills in a practical and engaging way.
Learning Objectives:
- Add and subtract small amounts of money.
- Develop understanding of how money is used in everyday transactions.
- Practise basic counting and problem-solving skills in a game setting.
How the Activity Works:
Players begin the game with $2 and take turns rolling the dice to move around the board. As they move, they encounter different spaces that either increase or decrease their money. Players keep track of their total by adding or subtracting the amounts indicated on the spaces they land on. The game continues until all players have finished, and the player with the most money at the end is the winner. Laminate the game board and pieces for a durable, long-lasting resource.
