Overview:

A set of 16 task cards designed to help students practise identifying, copying, and extending patterns. Designed for early and middle years students. Laminate for a long-lasting resource.

• Recognise and replicate repeating and growing patterns.
• Extend patterns by identifying the rule or sequence.
• Represent visual patterns numerically.

How the Activity Works:

Each card presents a different pattern-related challenge. Tasks include copying a given pattern using blocks, continuing the pattern for a specified number of steps, or recognising a growing pattern and showing the next stage. Some cards encourage students to represent visual patterns numerically, fostering deeper understanding and flexibility in thinking. This resource supports hands-on and engaging practice in pattern recognition and continuation.
