Time Attack Game, 5 Minute Intervals

Overview:
A fun and engaging game for students to practise reading times in 5-minute intervals (e.g., 6 past, 10 to, 25 past) on both analogue and digital clocks. Players roll dice, land on a clock face, and match the time shown to its corresponding digital format. The first player to place three counters in a row wins. Designed for students in years 5 and 6.
Learning Objectives:
- Recognise and read times in 5-minute intervals on analogue clocks.
- Match analogue times to digital times.
- Develop strategic thinking while reinforcing time-telling skills through gameplay.
How the Activity Works:
Players take turns rolling dice and moving around the game board's outer squares. When they land on an analogue clock displaying a time (e.g., 10 minutes to, 25 minutes past), they read the time and place a counter on the matching digital time on the game board. The goal is to be the first player to place three counters in a row—horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. Laminate the game board for durability and multiple uses.
