Students use conjunctions to turn simple sentences into compound sentences. Suitable for early and middle years students.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand how to use conjunctions to join simple sentences.
  • Develop skills in creating compound sentences.
  • Enhance writing and sentence structure skills.

How the Activity Works:

The resource includes sentence cards and conjunction cards. Students choose a sentence card and a conjunctions card, then use the conjunctions to create compound sentences. They practise combining sentences in different ways using a variety of conjunctions, such as "and," "but," "so," and "because." Laminate the cards for long-lasting use, making this activity a durable and effective resource for sentence structure practice.
