Identifying Body Parts: Australian Animals

EASYTEACHING.NET

Overview:

A cut-and-paste activity where students match the names of animal body parts to Australian animals. Designed for early to middle years students.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify and label key body parts of Australian animals.
  • Understand how the body parts of Australian animals help them survive in their unique environment.
  • Develop fine motor skills through cutting and pasting activities.

How the Activity Works:

Students are provided with images of Australian animals (kangaroo, crocodile, cassowary, dingo) and a set of body part labels. They will cut out the labels and paste them onto the corresponding body parts of each animal. The body parts could include features such as ears, paws, tails, and beaks. This activity helps students understand the distinctive physical features of Australian animals and how those features support survival in their specific habitats.
