Matching Teen Numbers Activity

Overview:

A set of matching cards designed to help students recognise and match different representations of teen numbers. Designed for early years students. Laminate for a long-lasting resource.

Learning Objectives:

• Recognise teen numbers in word form, digit form, and through visual representations (MAB blocks).
• Develop number sense and fluency with teen numbers.
• Strengthen the connection between different forms of representing numbers.

How the Activity Works:

Students match cards that show teen numbers in words, digits, and MAB block representations. Without colour coding, students will need to focus more on recognising the similarities between the different forms of representation. Once matched, students can check their work independently or with guidance. This activity helps reinforce their understanding of teen numbers and the concept of number representation.
