Race to the Top Game

Overview:

A snakes and ladders-style game where players use their knowledge of times tables to race to the finish. Designed for middle and upper years students. Laminate for a long-lasting resource.

Learning Objectives:

• Practise multiplying numbers within the times tables.
• Improve speed and accuracy in multiplication.
• Develop strategic thinking and counting skills in a fun, competitive setting.

How the Activity Works:

Player 1 rolls two dice, multiplies the numbers, and moves their counter to the corresponding square on the game board. If they land on a ladder, they climb forward; if they land on a snake, they slide back. Player 2 repeats the process. The first player to reach the finish line wins. This fast-paced game reinforces multiplication skills while adding an element of excitement and strategic movement.
