Overview:

A bingo game designed to reinforce blend and digraph sounds. Designed for students in year 2 and year 3.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify and differentiate between blend and digraph sounds.
  • Develop phonemic awareness and improve sound-letter recognition.
  • Practise reading and recognising common blends and digraphs in words.

How the Activity Works:

Students are each provided with a bingo board featuring various words containing blend and digraph sounds. As words are called out, students mark the corresponding words on their boards. The first student to mark off all squares shouts “Bingo!” The set includes eight different game boards, making it a versatile and engaging addition to literacy rotations.
