Overview:

Students classify shapes as regular or irregular by cutting and pasting them into the correct category. Designed for students in year 3 and year 4.

Learning Objectives:

Identify and differentiate between regular and irregular shapes.
Develop an understanding of shape properties, including side lengths and angles.
Practise fine motor skills through cutting and pasting.

How the Activity Works:

Students cut out a set of 2D shapes from the worksheet and sort them into two categories: regular and irregular. Regular shapes have equal sides and angles, while irregular shapes do not. This activity helps students develop a deeper understanding of geometric properties and classification.
