3D Shapes in Everyday Life (1)

EASYTEACHING.NET

Overview:

Students identify various 3D shapes, name them, and then draw or write examples of where each shape can be found in everyday life. Designed for early to middle years students.

Learning Objectives:

  • Recognise and name different 3D shapes.
  • Connect 3D shapes to real-world examples.
  • Develop drawing and writing skills to demonstrate understanding.

How the Activity Works:

Students are shown different 3D shapes and are asked to name each one. They then draw or write examples of where each shape can be found in everyday life, such as a sphere in a ball or a cylinder in a can. This activity helps students make connections between geometry and the world around them, reinforcing shape recognition and spatial awareness.
