Overview:

A worksheet where students complete part-part-whole models by finding the missing whole. They then write out the matching fact families. Designed for years 2 and 3 students.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify and solve for the missing whole in part-part-whole models.
  • Write and understand corresponding fact families using addition and subtraction.
  • Strengthen skills in basic addition and subtraction operations.

How the Activity Works:

Students are presented with part-part-whole models where the whole is missing. They add the two given parts together to find the missing whole. Once the whole is determined, students complete the fact families, writing two addition and two subtraction equations. This activity reinforces the relationship between addition and subtraction while helping students practice solving equations and completing fact families.
