Show Probability as a Fraction (2)

Overview:
An activity where students calculate the probability of various events and express their answers as fractions. Designed for year 5 and 6 students.
Learning Objectives:
- Calculate the probability of events based on given scenarios.
- Express probability as fractions in their simplest form.
- Develop an understanding of the relationship between probability and fractions.
How the Activity Works:
Students are shown images of marbles in a sack, each with different colours or patterns. For each scenario, students calculate the probability of picking a specific marble (e.g., "What is the probability of picking out a blue marble?"). They write the probability as a fraction, ensuring the denominator reflects the total number of marbles and the numerator represents the number of the target marble. An answer sheet is included for easy checking and self-assessment. This activity offers a practical and engaging way for students to practise expressing probabilities as fractions.
