Types of Sentences Tower Match (Early)

Overview:

Students build sentence towers by matching blocks of text for each sentence type: commands, statements, questions and exclamations. Designed for students in year 2.

Learning Objectives:

• Identify and classify the four types of sentences.
• Understand sentence structure and punctuation associated with each type.
• Develop analytical and problem-solving skills.

How the Activity Works:

Students cut out sentence blocks and arrange them into towers for each sentence type. Visual guides, including border colours and pictures, assist students in correctly sorting and building the towers. The activity promotes hands-on engagement while reinforcing sentence type recognition.
