What’s the Finish Time? 1-Min Intervals (1)
Overview:
An activity designed to help students calculate finish times by adding elapsed times in 1-minute intervals to start times. Students will work with analogue clocks and calculate the corresponding finish times in both analogue and digital formats. Designed for students in years 5 and 6.
Learning Objectives:
- Add elapsed times in 1-minute intervals to find the finish times.
- Represent the finish times in both analogue and digital formats.
- Strengthen skills in time addition and accurate time representation.
How the Activity Works:
Students are provided with start times on analogue clocks and given an elapsed time in 1-minute intervals. They will add the elapsed time to the start time to calculate the finish time. Once the finish time is determined, students will represent it on both an analogue clock and in digital format. This activity helps students practise adding 1-minute intervals and reinforces their ability to calculate and represent time effectively in both formats.
