Overview:

A counting activity where students use the ‘count on’ strategy to find totals, using visual pictures to represent the items. Designed for early years students.

Learning Objectives:

Practise counting on from a given number.
Strengthen number recognition and basic addition skills.

How the Activity Works:

Students are shown a starting number (e.g., 9) along with a set of pictures (e.g., fruits, animals, toys). They start by saying the given number and then count on by adding the number of items shown. This activity combines counting practice with engaging visuals to help students develop their addition skills in a fun way.
