This worksheet introduces a strategy to solve 9x multiplication facts by using 10x facts. Designed for students in year 3 and year 4.

How the Activity Works:

Students use the strategy of calculating 10x facts and then subtracting one group of the number to solve 9x multiplication problems. For example, to solve 3x9, students first calculate 3x10 (which is 30), then subtract 3 (one group) to get 27. This method helps students solve 9x problems more efficiently by using a known multiplication fact.
