In or Out?
Overview:
A simple activity for students to categorise images based on the terms ‘in’ and ‘out.’ Students will cut and paste images to show which objects or animals fit each description. Designed for students in prep and year 1.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand and apply the concepts of ‘in’ and ‘out.’
- Develop categorisation skills by sorting objects based on their location.
- Enhance fine motor skills through cutting and pasting activities.
How the Activity Works:
In this activity, students will look at a selection of pictures and decide whether the object or animal in the image is ‘in’ something or ‘out’ of something. For example, they may see a picture of eggs in a nest and place it under the ‘in’ category, or a bird outside a tree and place it under the ‘out’ category. Students will cut out the images and paste them in the correct sections. Through this activity, they will better grasp the terms ‘in’ and ‘out’ while practising their cutting and pasting skills.
