What’s the Elapsed Time? 30-Min Intervals (2)

Overview:
An activity designed to help students calculate the elapsed time between start and finish times shown on analogue clocks. Students will determine the time difference in 30-minute intervals. Designed for students in yeasrs 3 and 4.
Learning Objectives:
- Read start and finish times from analogue clocks.
- Calculate the elapsed time between the start and finish times in 30-minute intervals.
- Strengthen time calculation skills by determining elapsed time on analogue clocks.
How the Activity Works:
Students are presented with analogue clocks showing both start and finish times. They will then calculate the elapsed time by finding the difference between the start and finish times, focusing on 30-minute intervals. For example, if the start time is 2:30 and the finish time is 4:00, students would calculate that 1 hour and 30 minutes have passed. This activity reinforces students’ understanding of elapsed time and their ability to calculate time differences in 30-minute intervals.
