Overview:

An activity designed to help students calculate finish times by adding 30-minute intervals to start times shown on analogue clocks. Students then draw the finish times on analogue clocks. Designed for middle years students.

Learning Objectives:

  • Add 30-minute intervals to given start times.
  • Draw the corresponding finish times on analogue clocks.
  • Strengthen time-telling skills by calculating and representing 30-minute intervals on analogue clocks.

How the Activity Works:

Students are given start times displayed on analogue clocks. They calculate the finish time by adding the given 30-minute interval to the start time. Afterward, they draw the hands of the analogue clock to represent the finish time. For example, if the start time is 3:30 and the elapsed time is 30 minutes, students would draw the clock showing 4:00. This activity helps students practice adding 30-minute intervals and reinforces their understanding of time using analogue clocks.
