Overview:

A worksheet where students read a map with a scale to calculate different distances around a shopping centre. Designed for students in year 4 and year 5.

How the Activity Works:

Students are provided with a map of a shopping centre that includes a scale. They are asked to calculate the distance each person walked based on the paths shown on the map. In the second part of the activity, students create two of their own paths on the map and calculate the distance for each one using the scale. This activity encourages students to engage with map reading, scale interpretation, and distance calculation in a practical context.
