Overview:

A ‘bingo’ style game to help students identify nouns, verbs, and adjectives in fairy tale-themed word cards. Suitable for early to middle-year students.

Learning Objectives:

Identify and classify nouns, verbs, and adjectives.
Strengthen grammar skills by categorising words.
Improve critical thinking and attention to detail through gameplay.

How the Activity Works:

Each player is given a game board with each square marked as either 'noun', 'verb' or 'adjective'. Word cards are shuffled and drawn one by one. Players determine if the word card picked out is a noun, verb, or adjective, and place a counter on the corresponding space on their game board. The first player to complete a row of four counters wins the game. This fun, interactive game can be laminated for durability and serves as a long-lasting resource for practising parts of speech in an engaging way.
