Find Angles in a Picture (4)
EASYTEACHING.NET
Overview:
A city block image where students search for and identify different types of angles (right, acute, and obtuse), colour coding them accordingly. Designed for students in year 3 and year 4.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify and classify angles as right, acute, or obtuse.
- Apply knowledge of angles in a real-world context.
- Enhance observation and classification skills through hands-on learning.
How the Activity Works:
Students are given an image of a city block with various lines and shapes. They trace over the right angles in red, acute angles in green, and obtuse angles in blue. As they work, they keep a tally of how many of each angle type they find. This activity helps students practise recognising and classifying angles, reinforcing their understanding of geometry in a practical context. Students can complete the task independently or in pairs to ensure accurate identification and classification of all angles.
